Portland Girls Weekend - Wine Country

Girls weekends are a "must" in my book. My cousin & I are great travel partners and decided we needed another adventure. We met in Sonoma for a wine country weekend 2 years ago. This trip was planned on a whim about a month before we went. We asked our Bed &  Breakfast for ideas on wineries & food and just got in our rental car & drove! We lucked out and found some amazing wineries, food and had a fabulous time!

We started our Wine Country journey early from our hotel in Portland on a rainy Thursday morning with our first stop at Penner Ash winery. Penner Ash is about 40 miles outside of Portland in Newberg, on a tall hillside with the most gorgeous views.

What an incredible view!
Our first tasting of our girls weekend!

Our next stop just up the windy Ribbon Ridge road was Utopia Vineyard. This was a very small vineyard. The owner/farmer came running out of the house to come greet us and open up the tasting room. He was such a wonderful host and had amazing Chardonnay!

Saffron Fields was our next stop. This was a brand new facility that was only a year old. Their gardens & views were so beautiful. It almost looked like a painting.

Day 2 was a gorgeous 60 degree day! We were determined to visit the Owen Roe winery. My maiden name is Owen and so this was something I wanted to bring home with me! I am so glad we did. They had just moved into their new facility the month prior and were so welcoming.

Trisaetum Winery happened to be just up the road from the wineries we stopped at on our first day out, but didn't realize it was there. We tried this wine at lunch on our way to a few wineries & decided we needed to go check it out! Their Rieslings were incredible!

The next winery we were determined to visit on our last day in wine country was Blakeslee Vineyard. At the first winery we stopped at, we asked him if there was one winery we should stop at, which would it be? He said, go to Blakeslee for the most incredible views, especially with a view on a clear day of Mt Hood.

You can just faintly see Mt Hood right under the cloud on this photo.

On this trip, I probably saw some of the most incredible sunsets I have ever seen in my life. The two photos below were taken enroute to our next stop, Winter's Hill winery. This winery also had a very incredible view.

I hope you enjoyed following along with my Girls Weekend Trip to Oregon Wine Country. I definitely recommend planning a trip there!  Oregon Wine Country is a hidden gem. It reminded me so much of Sonoma, it was incredible. The people were all very nice & helped us find our way around.

Girls Weekend - Food & Accommodations and Girls Weekend - Portland Downtown are now on the blog as well!
